About Us

Shri Lakshmi Kishori College, situated in the birthplace of Maa Sita in Sitamarhi, is renowned as a prestigious higher education center. Its establishment symbolizes the aspirations of those sections of society who wanted to make higher education accessible to the underprivileged and neglected segments of the community. Founded in 1970, this college emerged from the resolve, foresight, and determination of the late Kishori Lal Sah. He established it in the joint name of his brother, the late Lakshmi Sah.

The founder's dream is flourishing today. After being affiliated in 1980, the college has received substantial support from the state's learned educators. Today, students not only from this region but also from neighboring countries benefit from undergraduate honors-level teaching in the Arts, Science, and Commerce faculties. Qualified, diligent, and committed professors carry out teaching and research activities. The college's distinctive features include well-equipped laboratories and a rich library.

Currently, under an ambitious expansion plan, the college administration has decided to extend the college campus to its land premises located in Shanti Nagar. This initiative has received significant support from the university administration as well as all sections of society, for which we are grateful.
